Fighting Strategies for The Shattered Halls in World of Warcraft

Shattered Halls is a level 70 instance in Hellfire Citadel. This instance has three bosses in it. Here are fighting strategies for each boss.

nethekurse

The first Boss is Grand Warlock Nethekurse. In front of him are four orcs that must be killed in any order. Once the last one is killed, Nethekurse will attack the party. If the party takes too long to kill the orcs, Nethekurse will kill the last one himself and then attack the party.

Nethekurse has three abilities that the party must know in order to kill him. The first is Summon Void Zones. Using this, he will summon empty areas throughout the fight. They will do 1000 shadow damage per second. Players, including the tank, must move away from these or die. This shouldn’t be too difficult because players will be warned by emotes 1-2 seconds before they are cast.

The next ability is Death Coil. It’s like the warlock death coil, fearing the target while draining 100% damage to cast as life. The third ability is Dark Spin. Once Nethekurse reaches 20% health, he begins to spin around, dealing 2000 damage to all plays in melee range and hurling shadow bolts at random people in the party that deal 1500 shadow damage. During this time, he won’t move so the tank and melee can back up if needed to recover.

Warbringer O’mrogg

The next boss is Warbringer O’mrogg. He is a two-headed ogre with four main abilities. His Thunder Clap is like warrior’s thunder, but he has increased nature damage up to 938-1062. This will slow your attacks by up to 30%. Warbringer O’mrogg’s next ability is an AoE, or Area of Effect, fear. This can be broken with Will of the Forsaken, Tremor Totems, or Fear Ward. Any fear-breaking trinket will also work. The third ability is Burning Weapon. Once his weapon starts to glow with fire, he will hit for 1000 damage each melee hit. His last ability, Blast Wave, works with Burning Weapon. Blast Wave will occur after his weapon starts glowing with fire. It will send waves of fire dealing 2500-3500 damage and slowing you down. During this time, it will switch targets randomly. Tanks should keep it away from the healer.

Warchief Kargath Bladefist

The last boss is Warchief Kargath Bladefist. He only has one ability and that is Blade Dance. Warchief Kargath Bladefist will use Blade Dance every 30 seconds. This is a whirlwind-like attack that deals weapon damage to all party members within melee range. Have the main tank aggro Warchief Kargath Bladefist in the center of the room so ranged players can spread out and not get hit by the Blade Dance.

Even though he only has one ability, Warchief Kargath Bladefist still hits fast and deals around 600 damage. During this fight he will summon orcs to his aid. They need to be tanked or killed. The DPS should focus on killing Kargath quickly. To learn more about World of Warcraft strategies, try reading the Team Idemise Guide.
