Your Twitter background is a “big worm” on a hook

The first thing people see on your profile is your Twitter background. However, many people continue to use the basic layouts that Twitter offers. These are nice layouts, but you need to do better than that if you plan to turn your followers into subscribers, and more importantly, into customers.

Your Twitter background is link bait. The more interesting your design is, the more you increase the chances that people will link to you. Of course, your niche and what you tweet also plays a role. But you have to start with your design to stop people in their tracks.Compelling content alone is not enough to engage people today.

Your images act like the worm on a hook. First, you need images that relate to your niche. That way, people know in a few seconds what your tweets will be about. You can hire a graphic designer to create images for you, or you can purchase images from a photo-sharing site. Either way, you’ll have some quality unique images for your Twitter background.

Second, you need to make it difficult for people to say no. This is where your writing skills come into play. Your message acts as the hook. Without the two together, all the fish will swim past you. Add the main benefits of following you in your message with a strong call to action to visit your blog, website, etc. However, try not to use any exaggeration. Otherwise, your strategy may backfire. keep it simple
