Is the Charlottesville riot the start of a civil war in the United States?

You only have to look at the degree of hatred in the country to understand that a civil war is imminent. Nor will it go away because racial intolerance has too much support in high places. As the nation grapples with trouble on many fronts, the last thing it can afford is an eruption of this nature at home. With most armed to the teeth with deadly weapons, once it starts there will be no stopping it until the country is torn to pieces.

Is this the price of democracy or something else: slavery? The most persecuted are those who have served the United States as forced labor in one form or another. His sweat and tears made the country what it is today. Now those who see themselves as better are hell-bent on proving their superiority by riding their regions from those to whom they owe so much.

The last Civil War was about freeing slaves, while the next one may be about massacring them. The last one started from the north, while the next one is likely to start from the south. This time it is not only the blacks who have gotten under the noses of the whites, but others who have come in search of sanctuary. They include Latinos, Muslims, and others.

While the Statue of Liberty is inscribed with words about the country that welcomes all those in need of refuge, the attitude of many is exactly the opposite. Politicians cannot resolve hatred with laws and decrees, and people cannot bury it when a large part of their lives is absorbed by it.

The unlawful killing of blacks and others by the police may have lit the fuse and the bomb will explode when white supremacists, neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan hit back in force. Charlottesville is just a taste of what is likely to follow. He lined up the players and the action is on its way.

While the threat of war with North Korea looms larger than ever this week, could the threat of Civil War take the heat off it? That remains to be seen. However, one thing is certain, racial tensions in the US are reaching a fever pitch and something has to give.
