Discovering your leadership and personal management skills

I have found it incredibly fascinating to witness throughout my management career as a professional, management leadership coach, and consultant how executives have run the organization and have no idea what their management style is. Many executives manage from the perspective of implementing the basic management practices and concepts of: planning, organizing, directing, and controlling, and while these elements of management are important, they fall short of providing leadership if other important characteristics of managerial leadership are not present. .

For the presence of leadership to exist, other factors must be incorporated, such as a synchronized machine; They must be moving simultaneously. Executive educators in the field of Head Start early childhood education are known for thinking that all is well on the home front of management under traditional management practices that are outdated. They have not been able to catch up with some of the elite private sector organizations that have demonstrated a keen understanding of leadership management best practices and practices. Having served as a Quality Assurance Executive for one of the largest Early Childhood Education Programs in the United States (Head Start), I can attest to the fact that millions of taxpayer dollars will be wasted and not used for their intended purpose. to provide quality educational opportunities for disadvantaged and economically disadvantaged children. The reason why I am making this statement is because this program is being manipulated by a specialist who knows how to defraud the system with more than ten billion dollars annually financed by the federal government. They have become what I call federally funded professional executive pimps. I know it’s hard, but the fact is; which is the truth based on federal reviews indicating that many of these programs are flawed and my first hand observation of not only bad practices but also immoral.

So now, let’s examine some of the variables as to why and how this situation has occurred and how it might be occurring in your organization. What is failing in our public educational structure? And what is failing in our leadership management structure in corporate America? From my perspective, the public and private sectors need to regroup, reflect and redefine their management practices to adapt to the modern era of relationships between people. And so the time has come to specifically examine the processes of your own management style and what to look for along the way in developing your leadership skills.
