If you are looking for a new hammer drill / driver, you might want to take a look at the Makita BHP451 18V. This particular Makita has a ton of features you don’t find with other rotary hammers and is sure to help you finish almost any job. difficult to ask.

The Makita BHP451 comes with a new battery technology known as the Lithium-ion LXT system and offers a tone of advantages over standard NiCad or NiMH batteries found in many exercises.

Not only are you getting around 1,400 cycles of battery life with this new technology, but the runtime is much longer, it charges much faster, and the batteries are lighter. This means less concern about wear and tear on your arm during heavy drilling. These lithium ion batteries also come with built-in shock absorption features to help protect them and the drill.

Another really cool feature of the Makita BHP451 is the new 45-minute Optimum Charger. It uses a memory chip built into the battery and a CPU chip in the charger to communicate with each other. The purpose is for the charger to be able to analyze the battery data and determine the best charging method at that time.

Although the Makita BHP451 is a high powered drill that packs 560 in./lbs. of torque, it is still quite compact and lightweight. At just 9-7 / 8 inches long and 4.9 pounds, you can drill for extended periods of time without tiring.

You can also choose from 3 speed settings: 0-300 RPM on low, 0-600 on medium, and 0-1,700 RPM on high speed. This ensures that you can always choose the perfect speed for whatever project you are working on.

In hammer mode, this drill delivers up to 4,500 strokes per minute (BPM) in the lowest gear, up to 9,000 in the middle gear, and a staggering 25,500 BPM in the third and highest gear! It’s also extremely easy to switch from drilling mode to riding mode with the new Shift-Lock transmission system.

Another great feature of the Makita BHP451 is the LED light. If you frequently work in smaller or darker spaces, you will really enjoy this addition.
