Living with the new Corona virus or Covid 19: an illusion

Now that the new coronavirus has become part of the course of our contemporary lives, there is no other way out than to live with it. In my previous article titled ‘Living with the Novel Coronavirus or Covid 19’, which was published here a few weeks ago, I only explained the preliminary precautions one should take while living with the Novel Coronavirus or Covid 19. It was just a short note explaining the defensive methods by which one can stay away from the possibility of a new coronavirus attack.

However, my intention here is much broader.

I am not here to elucidate the scientific or medical assessment of the current situation, which is the creation of the new coronavirus. I am not here to explain guidelines put forth by expert medical professionals or the WHO.

I wish to address the entire world community to assert my statement, as well as to appeal to everyone to work for the betterment of human life. I am here only to pray for human union.

Let the new corona virus (Covid 19) become a twist of fate; let’s take this opportunity as a practical opportunity to unite, at least mentally. Yes, this new coronavirus has given us the long-awaited break! Let us unite, forgetting all regional, national and religious barriers, and be partners in building a new global community. Remember, when such a pandemic occurs, humans are on one side and the enemy is on the other side. This practical truth simply explains that we are all of one kind, and that is the human race. The new coronavirus has taught us this fact emphatically.

Let our children breathe fresh air; who have a more human character than us. That they become GLOBAL CITIZENS instead of restricted nationalists. Restricted nationalism means restricted humanism, and restricted humanism means sophisticated or masked barbarism.

By restricted nationalism I mean reducing oneself, to the few alphabets of one’s own name, religion, country, rather than thinking along Aristotle’s famous quote: “Man is a social animal.” Let’s start thinking big; let us discard unwanted ways of thinking, filled with petty regionalisms or religiosity. Let’s get out of language barriers; Let’s free our minds and become one entity!

After all, we are human, and we can admit the fact! We must admit that we are all human. We are all from an ethnic group; we belong to a family, which means that we are all human. We can use the opportunity that the new coronavirus provides for our betterment, the betterment of our human society.

Please understand that human life is very fragile. As we now know, even the smallest of little viruses, the new coronavirus, Covid 19, which cannot be detected with the naked eye, is capable of ending human existence! You don’t need any human-made destructive mechanisms to devastate our beautiful globe!

See what is happening with the existing social scene! Schools have stopped working! All religious institutions remain closed! Pragmatically, human life has become more or less paralyzed! People are afraid to move freely in the streets! Also, there is an official ban on doing so in some countries! Officially, they call it ‘blocking’. Fear has gripped everyone, and an air of uncertainty can be seen everywhere.

So, let us be aware of this fact regarding the fragility of life! Let us take the practical essence of this fact! Let us love each other and be new human beings. The new coronavirus has given us a golden opportunity to become global citizens.

Let’s not forget to take this opportunity and unite. This opportunity may be our last bus so hurry to get in or else we may be stranded.
