Chocolate Fudge Cake Recipe: Homemade Fudge Layer Cake

I don’t know about you, but I love brownie. One look at this delicious layer cake makes my mouth water. Chocolate lovers will have this pretty quickly, so be sure to grab a piece before it’s gone.

2 cups sifted cake flour

2 teaspoons of baking powder

1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 squares of unsweetened chocolate

2/3 cup of water

1 1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2/3 cup butter, softened

3 eggs

1/3 cup buttermilk

Chocolate fudge filling

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.

Tear off a large sheet of waxed paper and place it on the kitchen counter. Using a strainer, sift the baking powder and baking soda over the wax paper.

In a saucepan or double boiler, combine the chocolate, water, and 1/4 cup sugar; simmer while stirring constantly. When the chocolate is thick and smooth, transfer it to another bowl. Cool the chocolate in a saucepan with ice water; stir occasionally. Add vanilla to the chocolate.

In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the cold chocolate.

Add the sifted flour mixture, alternating with the buttermilk; Beat the batter well after each addition, until smooth and smooth. Pour cake batter into cake pans.

Bake 35 minutes, or until center of cake pops back when lightly pressed. Let cool on a wire rack. When cake is cool, divide each round in half and fill with Chocolate Fudge Filling. Use the same filling to frost the entire cake.

6 semi-sweet chocolate squares

3 tablespoons of butter

7 tablespoons of milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 cups of powdered sugar sifted

In a small saucepan, add the chocolate squares and butter. Cook over low heat until melted.

In a bowl, add the melted chocolate, milk, and vanilla and stir until well blended. Add the confectioner’s sugar and mix until the filling is smooth and spreadable easily.

This recipe is a great alternative to a layer cake. This fudge cake is ready for picnics, potlucks, and parties. Better save this recipe because you will be asked to make it over and over again.

Chocolate Fudge Icing

1 bar of butter

6 to 8 tablespoons of milk

3 tablespoons cocoa

1 box of pastry sugar

1 cup walnuts or chopped walnuts (optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla

In a saucepan, simmer the butter, cocoa and milk (do not boil). Remove the pan from the heat and add the sugar, walnuts, and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer until the frosting is smooth.

For a warm frosting on the cake and spread with a knife.
